Sunday Times reviewed our album of Elgar/ Tchaikovsky performed by Johannes Moser , Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under the baton of Andrew Manze. This release displays profoundly moving, elegiac lyricism of Elgar and the wistful charm and brilliance of Tchaikovsky. Read the review below.

Moser is a fine German champion of Elgar’s great concerto, which he couples with Tchaikovsky’s Variations and odds and sods for solo cello and orchestra. He takes an emotional, nostalgic view of the Elgar — broadly phrased, with light relief in his scurrying account of the “scherzo”. The Tchaikovsky Variations are elegant Mozart pastiche, dashed off with scintillating virtuosity. Manze elicits superb playing from Geneva’s orchestra.
