Following their cover story and interview in the June issue, the July issue of Gramophone Magazine awards Magdalena Kožená & Mitsuko Uchida an Editor’s Choice for ‘L’extase’.
Declaring ” ‘L’extase’ indeed!”, Gramophone hailed the “revealing programme of mainly early songs an appealing recital in its own right”. The review also praised Magdalena Kožená’s “deftness” as well as her being “keenly attuned” to the programme and singing “eloquently”. Further praise was afforded Mitsuko Uchida – “Mitsuko Uchida responds at all times with a poise and insight to make one regret that she has not played more French music”.
