We are hiring: Sync & Metadata Intern

PENTATONE is an international classical music record label with outstanding artists specialising in premium quality recordings, which are sold worldwide. The label is located in Baarn, the Netherlands.

Job Description:

Join PENTATONE’s Marketing team as an intern and gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of classical music! In this role, you’ll play a key part in our day-to-day operations, focusing on metadata management, playlist curation, and a variety of other essential tasks. From maintaining internal systems to coordinating metadata updates, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring everything runs smoothly. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, passionate about music, and eager to dive into sync licensing, this is the perfect opportunity for you. You’ll work directly with the Sales and Distribution Manager and become an integral part of our team.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in higher education or recently graduated
  • EU citizenship, preferably residing in the Amsterdam or Utrecht region (hybrid work model)
  • Passion for music and an interest in the recording industry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sales and Distribution Manager with operational tasks
  • Manage metadata for one-stop tracks
  • Create and update playlists, including developing new categories for music supervisors
  • Maintain and update our master sheet as needed
  • Verify public domain eligibility and track any changes
  • Coordinate the updating and distribution of metadata and audio with our partners (Disco, Synclassical, Soundmouse, Sostereo, etc.)
  • Support sync licensing efforts, including responding to requests and archiving successful placements
  • Maintain sync contacts and research industry trends, fairs, music supervisors, new platforms, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong teamwork skills with a cooperative attitude
  • Excellent command of English
  • Educational background in music, (music) administration, or (music) law
  • Availability to work 16 hours per week for a 6-month period
