Our release of Vivaldi – 6 Bassoon Concertos with Gustavo Núñez and Academy of St Martin in the Fields received a charming review from De Volkskrant! This album combines six bassoon concerti by Vivaldi, performed by Uruguayan bassoonist Gustavo Núñez, who holds the position of principal bassoonist with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and who is considered one of the best bassoonists of his generation. He is accompanied by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, by many considered as one of the world’s most admired chamber orchestras. 

Gustavo Núñez, de briljante solofagottist van het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, blijft nu eens niet bescheiden begeleidend op de achtergrond maar pakt uit met zes van Vivaldi’s concerten. En ineens verandert de ingetogen brompot op de achterste rij van het orkest in een geraffineerde macho: met vleiende tonen verleidt hij de dartele fluit, met doortastend akkoordenwerk pookt hij in het ritme van het orkest.
