Album information

George Gershwin (1898-1937) was one of the first and most successful composers bringing Afro-American styles such as jazz, spirituals and blues to classical music, making it swing more than ever before. It is hard to sit still while listening to Gershwin Famous Pieces, which contains some of his most appealing works, from Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris, I Got Rhythm, Someone to Watch Over Me, as well as his magnum opus Porgy & Bess with the legendary song Summertime. They are performed by Angel Blue, Marin Alsop, Denis Kozhukhin, Matt Haimovitz, Veschko Eschkenazy, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Houston Symphony, as well as many others.

This is a digital-only album, not available as a physical product.
