FORGOTTEN DANCES: ADÈS’ SOLO GUITAR MASTERPIECE
Guitarist Sean Shibe presents the EP Forgotten Dances, Thomas Adès’ six-movement work written for and performed by Shibe. From the Overture, Queen of the Spiders to the opiate-induced Barcarolle, the virtuosic Courante – Here was a swift (for Max Ernst), the clamourous Carillon de Ville (for Hector Berlioz), and the chaconne-like finale Vesper (dedicated to and based on Purcell’s An Evening Hymn), the EP showcases Shibe’s masterful interpretation of Adès’ first published work, asides his keyboard works, for a solo instrument.
This EP offers a first glimpse of the full album Vesper, set for release in April 2026.
This is a digital-only EP, not available as a physical product.
