PENTATONE releases Mozart: Violin Concertos with Chloe Chua in JULY 2025.
Chloe Chua returns to PENTATONE with a complete recording of Mozart’s violin concertos, joined by violist Ziyu He and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under maestro Hans Graf. Featuring fresh, refined interpretations that highlight her deep connection to the music, the album also includes Mozart’s rondos and the Sinfonia Concertante, showcasing the artistry of two young Menuhin Competition winners.
This album, available on standard 3CD, 4LP and digital formats, continues Chloe’s exclusive collaboration with PENTATONE, complementing the already released and acclaimed Butterfly Lovers & Paganini (2024) and Vivaldi Four Seasons and Locatelli Harmonic Labyrinth (2023).
“Mozart’s music has always been very close to my heart… I am especially enchanted by the elegant, youthful and energetic characteristics of his music. Hearing and playing Mozart’s works makes me feel alive – as if I have just taken a breath of fresh air.
The recording project started in 2022 when I was 15 and completed the following year. It was a huge challenge for me to record the full set of Mozart’s violin concertos as these works have already been recorded by so many renowned violinists. I wondered what more can be done. These pieces were largely composed during his teens. Even though they are not as technically demanding as many other concertos, there is abundant melody and elegance in them. I decided to just follow my heart as a teenager like him and find my own interpretations as one.”
