Silvia Pietrosanti, PENTATONE’s sparkling Director of Marketing & Business Development, shares her thoughts on Philippe Quint’s Milestones:
“I was really lucky to attend the London launch of Philippe Quint’s Milestones at the stunning Leighton House Museum, an intimate and inspiring setting that felt just right for such a personal album. Composer Errollyn Wallen made a special appearance, even accompanying Philippe on piano for the piece she wrote. It was a beautiful moment that brought the story behind the music vividly to life. Philippe was a wonderful host and performer; his introductions felt like cotton candy: light, sweet, and perfectly matched to the poetry in the music.
What I love most about this project is how it tells Philippe’s story through the voices of groundbreaking women composers — Errollyn Wallen, Lera Auerbach, and his mother, Lora Kvint — all of whom he knows personally and collaborates with closely. The album is full of touching moments, like the lullaby his grandfather used to sing to him, and reflections on memory, migration, and new beginnings.
As a music professional, it was wonderful to see how thoughtfully the album was crafted and how it has been presented across different markets, with targeted launches in several territories (Germany, Spain, the UK, and the US), without ever losing its personal touch. With the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and conductor Andrew Litton, Milestones becomes more than just a recording, it’s a journey through life’s turning points, told with honesty, beauty, and a lot of heart.”
Philippe Quint’s Milestones was released on PENTATONE on 04 April 2025.
