We are delighted to share that Yulianna Avdeeva’s Metanoia has been reviewed by Carsten Dürer for the German magazine Piano News.
Dürer concludes that “she achieves a breathtaking and personal recording that is truly convincing.” He praises how she characterises the different levels of expression, distinguishing between lyricism and subtle agogics and the exuberant outbursts, and finds Liszt’s late works “in excellent hands with her.” She takes the time to work out their agogic and harmonic details, so that the works are “heard anew, and their modernity is recognized.” He adds that Avdeeva is “deeply emotionally involved.”
Metanoia was released on 28 August and pairs Liszt’s Sonata in B minor with a selection of his late works.
