We are delighted to share that Yulianna Avdeeva’s Metanoia has been reviewed by Jean-Yves Duperron for Classical Music Sentinel.
Duperron writes: “A detailed program that makes you realize that Liszt was much more than just flash and histrionics, all perfectly conveyed by Yulianna Avdeeva.” He finds her “unaffected, almost expressionless interpretation” of the Sonata reveals the work’s dark and enigmatic character, and that the “unrestrained and dramatic Wagnerian harmonic touches” are well captured.
Metanoia was released on 28 August and explores Liszt’s transformation from virtuoso to visionary.
