Goldscheider’s Mozart Praised by Mundoclasico

We are delighted to share that Ben Goldscheider’s Mozart Horn Concertos, recorded with the Münchener Kammerorchester, has been reviewed by the Spanish site Mundoclasico.

Critic Juan Carlos Tellechea welcomes the album as a tribute to Mozart in the year of the 270th anniversary of his birth. He calls Goldscheider “an extraordinary instrumentalist” who plays the concertos with the soul Mozart put into them, especially the Third, and with joy, depth and humour in the Fourth. He also praises the recording as spontaneous and intimate, with a sense of immediacy.

Released on 2 October, the album marks Ben Goldscheider’s PENTATONE debut and brings together all four of Mozart’s horn concertos, written for his friend Joseph Leutgeb. It was recorded at the Bavaria Musikstudios in Munich with cadenzas and lead-ins by Andreas Staier.
