Gramophone has spotlighted Pentatone’s new recording of Orff’s Carmina Burana, performed by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra under Jader Bignamini, as one of its September 2026 test recordings in the magazine’s High Fidelity section.
Despite the work being one of the most recorded scores in the repertoire, Gramophone notes that this new Pentatone version has both space and power, distinguishing it within a crowded field of existing recordings.
Carmina Burana is out now on PENTATONE.
