"These are the first four albums of the "Hans Vonk Legacy", a series of CDs featuring live recordings made during the last years of well known Dutch conductor Hans Vonk's tenure with the St Louis Symphony Orchestra.

In 2001, Vonk began to experience muscular weakness. In 2002, he
resigned his position in St. Louis because of these health problems,
which were later diagnosed as ALS. He died in 2004 in Amsterdam.

The series is released by PentaTone, his last recording company, in Memoryof this great conductor.
